Spotlight on Kate Spade

If you hadn't heard, the big buzz in the fashion world last week was that Coach has agreed to purchase handbag and accessories company Kate Spade for $2.4 billion in a bid to accelerate its growth.
Coach has continued to reinvent itself and this acquisition gives Coach ownership of a smaller handbag and accessories rival with a strong Millennial following. Additionally, Kate Spade also has a growing lifestyle business.
Kate Spade is known for their classic, feminine and colorful pieces. "It is a strong brand with a clear and consistent positioning, with leadership in the attributes of fashionable, fun and feminine, and a growing share of Millennials," Coach CEO Victor Luis said in a conference call.
In the spirit of this new development in the fashion world we are accessorizing Kate Spade's scallop trim tweed fit & flare dress with pieces from the Vintage Meet Modern Collection! I first spotted this dress on Pinterest and fell in love with its timeless and feminine silhouette and detailing.
Its a style that is complemented by classic and feminine accessories like Ciner's crystal bow brooch and this 1950's red and gold fleck bracelet. And the black and white palette screams for a pop of bold red in the accessories.
I love how the scallop trim of the dress is mirrored in the bracelet and the pumps. And you might remember the earrings from Monday's post. This bold Dior pair is such a unique find and truly a jewelry box essential! And the bow style of this exquisite Ciner brooch pays homage to Kate Spade's love affair with bows in their designs. For this look, I'd style the brooch in my hair.
And the beauty of this style inspiration is that you can keep it simple with just one or two accessories, or be a true accessories maven and pile them all on, along with a strand of glass pearls!
