I dress to express my mood so my personal style tends to run the gamut, but no matter what it’s always colorful. I’m a sucker for unique handbags, modern versions of vintage dresses, fedoras, and floral prints mixed with stripes. Currently, my wardrobe is dominated by princess cut dresses, tunics, and pixie pants. I’ve most recently become obsessed with velvet and embroidered boots.
Just five?!? Oh gosh. A striped shirt because it’s a classic and it can be dressed up down or mixed with other prints. A pair of pixie pants because they’re so versatile and can be worn during three out of four seasons. A black or navy blazer for professional reasons (because contrary to popular belief black doesn’t look good on everyone). A peplum skirt or dress for special occasions and cocktail parties when you’re bloated and last, but certainly not least, a pair of well fitting dark wash jeans.
Statement necklaces, stud earrings, and faux septum nose rings.
I first got hooked on vintage bags then I was introduced to eShakti, ModCloth and Vintage Meet Modern which took my love for vintage and modern versions of vintage looks to a whole new level.
I usually incorporate vintage into my everyday style through handbags, jewelry, and dresses.
I collect handbags and modern versions of vintage bags are my favorite.
Yes please! I’ll take both.

I’d have to say my most memorable style related purchase was a blue velvet dress. One Saturday like any other my nanny (grandmother) took me shopping, but on this particular Saturday so many dresses caught my eye and each one I tried fit as if it were custom made. As I began putting them back on the rack she inquired if I liked them to which I replied "Yes, I love them but where would I go in those dresses?" My nanny’s response was if you love them get them and wear them anywhere. So I did. I wore them to banquets, church, school and that very same year I wore one to her funeral. I still shop with that same mentality and I only buy things I fall in love with.
Ok, here’s the moment of truth… I am completely coveting Vintage Meet Modern’s 1970’s wood oak leaf brooch, and the vogue jewelry brooch and earring set. I’ve also been completely OBSESSED with the Vintage Monogram Ellipse bag by Louis Vuitton for years!
