What I love most about Vintage Meet Modern is the women who wear our pieces. They are women who run the world and are passionately determined to make the world a better place. In fact, the pieces we all wear bond us together much like a secret handshake.

Vintage jewelry is personal. The pieces have been passed down with history. When you admire a piece, you can’t help but think about the woman who wore it before you and the life she lived. Where did she work? What challenges did she face? What were her accomplishments?

Every piece tells a story of the strong ambitious women who came before you, but it also continues with you.Every piece tells a story and every woman's story is important. Especially in a world where many times women have been invisible, considered second, or have had to work harder to achieve that same thing as men or have put their dreams on hold while taking care of others first.

Recently, VMM partnered withArmoire Style to do a giveaway. It was more than just offering a prize. It was truly about two women-owned companies collaborating together because of a similar mission: to help women look and feel their best, so they can achieve their goals and make the world a better place, all while doing it in great style that is reflective of who they are.That is pretty darn powerful.

I always knew the jewelry we curated came from interesting women and places. In fact, we have worked hard to preserve stories about pieces when we can along the way. And in doing so, something even more powerful happened! We learned more about the women who wore our pieces and their mission and goals. We have honestly never worked harder to find pieces that would be perfect for the women who support and wear VMM because of their personal style and happiness.

Ambition is a strong word, and I think sometimes when others hear it, they think it must be attached to a big or momentous goal. Something I strongly believe is that no goal is too small, and it has to be unique to you. That goal has to be what motivates you to jump out of bed in the morning and puts a smile on your face...no matter what is going on in the world or any obstacles that are thrown your way.

This week’s collection is a reflection of small but powerful details—wearable pieces of distinction and confidence-boosting, pretty little pieces of armor. Like I always say: a life well-lived is in the details!

I am always very honored when people tell us the reasons they wear our jewelry. Some of the best answers we have received lately are incredibly powerful statements that reflect how strong these women are even when things are hard or when they want to celebrate an important moment in their life. Vintage jewelry has a unique way of reminding us about people and moments from our past that we cherish while also living our best life now.

Here are just a few examples of these statements:

“I wear this brooch when I want to feel close to my grandmother.”

“I wear this necklace when I present because I feel confident when I am on stage.”

“I wear these earrings because they turn heads when I walk into the room.”

“I wear these pieces because they set me apart from the rest.”

These are all comments we cherish hearing at VMM.

Can a pair of earrings change the world? I don’t know, but one thing I do know for sure is that the women who wear our pieces do.
