Few designers are more famous for their dresses than Diane Von Furstenberg.
DVF was a firmly established 70s fashion icon, when her figure-hugging, jersey wrap dress became a cult item, popular both with the Studio 54 crowd and the Park Avenue set. Over the next 30 years, the DVF business saw successes and declines but has resurged in popularity in the last decade.
Diane von Furstenberg first made her jersey dresses at her friend Angelo Ferretti’s factory in Italy but was encouraged by Vogue editor Diana Vreelandto sell them in New York.
The dress was, of course, an instant sell-out, eventually becoming an international success and putting DVF’s name on the fashion map. Its success is attributed to the fact that its a dress which is suitable for every kind of body type. A dress that immediately makes us feel classy and ready for any occasion. DVF’s motto, “Feel like a woman, wear a dress,” resonated particularly in the ‘70s, when women felt the need to dress like men to be successful at work. With Diane’s dresses they could be both professional and feminine.
It is a dress which has been worn by thousands of women, hundreds of celebrities, and has been designed in nearly every color and pattern.

Today, this dress is still worn by women all over the world. And although we love DVF clothing, if you can't work it into your lifestyle another great way to incorporate her style is through her jewelry. Owning vintage DVF jewelry also means owning something no one else has.
